The Good Childhood Report is the world’s biggest study into child happiness and it focuses on young people in the UK. What the study found was that the biggest barrier to happiness in children is the FEAR of crime; affected 2.2 million children. Another concerning fact is that almost 1 million children have experienced crime.

The report also tells us.
- 1 in 4 boys FEAR being assaulted or mugged.
- 1 in 3 FEAR being followed by a stranger
So, what is clear is that FEAR of being on the receiving end the crime dramatically affects the happiness of our children. With this in mind, it is essential that we supply a framework of knowledge and understanding so that they feel empowered with respect to their personal safety. Competence in this area will have a positive and profound impact on the self-confidence and resilience levels. Studies reveal is that self-confident young people are unlikely to be targeted or profiled as victims. They simply fail the bad guys interview at the initial stages. What more could we want for our children?
